I found Macromonas fusiformis in Simmelried in December 2005, October 2021 and September 2022. I could observe immobile as well as slowly swimming cells. In the case of the swimming cells no flagella were visible, despite thorougly observing with the 100 X objective. The specimens from the Simmelried were between 25 – 30 µm long. In each cell 5 – 12 large sulphur grains are arranged in a line.
